Mt Kilimanjaro (8 Days – Machame Route)

    Day 1:

Arrival Day Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, one of our company’s professional drivers will meet you and transfer you to the Green Mountain Hotel in Arusha. After arriving at your hotel, rest a bit before your Kilimanjaro guide visits you for a briefing and equipment check.

    Accommodation: Green Mountain Hotel

    Day 2: Arusha / Machame Gate (1,800 m) → Machame Camp (2,835 m)

After breakfast, head to Machame Gate to register and prepare for your Kilimanjaro expedition. The 11 km, 5-7 hour hike continues through magnificent rainforests, giant ferns, moss-covered trees, colobus monkeys, and tropical birds surrounding you. The steep but rewarding trail ends at Machame Camp, located in a clearing at the foot of the mountain.

Accommodation: Machame Camp, Meals: Lunch and Dinner

    Day 3: Machame Camp (2,835 m) → Shira Camp (3,840 m)

Today’s hike on the Kilimanjaro expedition: 5 km and 6 hours

Exit the dense rainforest and enter the shrubland. The trail becomes rockier and offers spectacular views of the Shira Plateau and Mount Meru in the distance. In the afternoon, you will reach Shira Camp, located on an open, high plateau.

Accommodation: Shira Camp, Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

    Day 4: Shira Camp (3,750 m) → Lava Tower (4,600 m) → Barranco Camp (3,900 m)

Today’s walking distance on the Kilimanjaro expedition is 10 km / 6-8 hours

The walk takes place in a semi-desert region.

This is an acclimatization hike for the Kilimanjaro climb.

Gradually ascend to Lava Tower (4,630 m) for lunch and rest, then descend to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” approach helps your body adjust to the altitude. During the descent, the spectacular views of the Barranco Valley and the southern glaciers of Kibo come into view.

Accommodation: Barranco Camp, Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

    Day 5: Barranco Camp (3,900 m) → Karanga Camp (3,995 m) → Barafu Camp (4,673 m)

Today’s walking distance on the Kilimanjaro expedition is 10 km / 8-9 hours.

Today’s walking stage of the Kilimanjaro tour will take place in the Alpine desert.

Start the day by climbing the Barranco Wall, an adventurous climb offering nature lovers spectacular views. The trail then winds through valleys and ridges to reach Karanga Camp for a lunch break. After lunch, climbers ascend to Barafu Camp via a short but steep climb to reach the summit. When you arrive at the camp at noon, you can rest and enjoy the view. The landscape is barren but impressive. You can see the view of Mawenzi Peak. Have an early dinner and sleep before the midnight climb to the summit. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

    Accommodation: Barafu Camp

    Day 6: Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) → Mweka Camp (3,100 m) Hike

Today’s hiking distance on the Kilimanjaro expedition is 17 km / 10-14 hours (6–8 hours climbing, 5–6 hours descending)

To reach Kilimanjaro’s summit, slowly climb the steep switchbacks to Stella Point (5,685 m), then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point! Take photos of the sunrise view and enjoy the scenery, then descend to Barafu Camp for brunch and continue to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest. Accommodation: Mweka Camp, Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

    Day 7: Mweka Camp (3,100 m) → Mweka Gate (1,640 m) → Arusha

Today’s walking distance on the Kilimanjaro expedition is 10 km / 3-4 hours.

Descend gently from the rainforest to Mweka Gate and collect your Uhuru Peak certificates here. Celebrate your Uhuru Peak success with your team before returning to Moshi or Arusha to rest. Meals: Breakfast and lunch
