    Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our professional guide and driver will meet you. You will then be transferred from the airport to the Green Mountain Hotel in Arusha for your Kilimanjaro expedition. Before dinner, our guide will give a short briefing on the Kilimanjaro climb and check your equipment.

    Accommodation: Green Mountain Hotel (Arusha)

    Day 2: Arusha / Marangu Gate (1,879 m) → Mandara Hut (2,700 m)

After breakfast for the Kilimanjaro tour, a short drive takes you to Marangu Gate. Here, registration procedures are completed and you meet the mountain team. The hike begins through lush rainforest filled with giant trees, mosses, and colorful birds. A very pleasant, moderately difficult 8 km trail through the rainforest takes 4-5 hours to reach Mandara Hut.

On the Kilimanjaro tour, you can enjoy magnificent forest views, see colobus monkeys, and take the Maundi Crater hike (optional).

    Accommodation: Mandara Hut

    Meals: Lunch & Dinner

    Day 3: Mandara Hut (2,700 m) → Horombo Hut (3,720 m)

Today’s hike is 11 km and takes 5-6 hours.

To reach Horombo Hut, we walk out of the forest towards an open heathland area. The magnificent views of the Mawenzi and Kibo peaks appear. The vegetation is heath and scrub. After arriving at Horombo Hut, you can enjoy a hot meal and the views.

Enjoy the wide and impressive views as the vegetation changes with increasing altitude on your Tanzanian mountain climb.

    Day 4: Horombo Hut (3,720 m) → Kibo Hut (4,720 m)

Today, after a 9 km hike lasting 5-6 hours in the alpine desert region, we will reach Kibo Hut.

The day begins with a gradual climb on the broad ridge connecting the Mawenzi and Kibo peaks (The Saddle). The terrain is dry, dusty, and resembles the surface of the moon. Kibo Hut is the last stop before the summit climb to Uhuru Peak. Dinner is taken early, and we retire early to rest for the midnight summit hike.
