Mount Kazbek tour (Eight Days)

Day 1: Tbilisi Airport

Meet our guide at Tbilisi Airport (Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport, TBS) depending on your arrival time

Transfer to our hotel in Tbilisi City Center, rest and cool down

In the evening, our guide will give a program briefing and do a final equipment check

Overnight at the hotel (Tbilisi)

Day 2: Transfer to Stephantsminda

After breakfast, transfer by minibus at 10am to Stephantsminda (also known as Kazbegi), approximately 3 hours on the Georgian Military Highway through the Caucasus Mountains

Free time in the afternoon

Overnight at the guesthouse (Stephantsminda)

Day 3: Climb to Mount Kazbek Base Camp

After breakfast, transfer by minibus at 8am to Gergeti Holy Trinity Church (20 minutes)

Mount Kazbek Base Camp at 3650m Start climbing to the base camp (also known as Betlemi) (4-6 hours of hiking)

Overnight in a tent (Betlemi)

Day 4: Acclimatization

After breakfast, we will take lunch with you and hike up to 4200 m to help your body adapt to the altitude

We will train and practice the necessary mountaineering skills such as rope work, ice axe handling, crampon walking etc.

Day 5: Ascent to the Summit and Return to Base Camp

Have breakfast early in the morning and set off at 2am, we will climb together above 3900 m by rope due to glacier terrain and crevasses.

We will hike to the Kazbek plateau at 4500 m in about 4 hours.

We will continue our saddle climb (4900 m, 30 degrees) and reach the summit at 40-45 degrees using fixed ropes and ice axes.

At the summit of Kazbek 5054 m, we will be enchanted by the view of the Caucasus Mountains, take photos, recharge our batteries and descend to Betlemi.

Total climbing time 10-12 hours

Day 6: Extra day in case of bad weather

Day 7: Descent to Gergeti Church and transfer to Tbilisi

After breakfast, pack your things and descend to Gergeti Church (4 hours).

Short visit to the church and transfer to Tbilisi (3 hours drive)

On the way to Tbilisi, we will stop at Ananuri Castle and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta

Overnight at the hotel (Tbilisi)

Day 8: Transfer to the airport

After breakfast, transfer to Tbilisi airport
