Two Summits, One Spirit: Journey to the Heart of Ararat!

Day 1: Transfer from Airport to Doğubayazıt

Meet your Mount Ararat tour guide at the airport (Iğdır/Van/Ağrı)

Transfer to Doğubeyazıt (Iğdır/50 minutes/distance 53 km) have hot and cold drinks at a cute little cafe on the way and enjoy the view of Mount Ararat

Van airport (2 hours 21 minutes/170 km) stop at Muradiye waterfall on the way, the waterfall named after the Ottoman Emperor IV Murat is 18 m high and has a fascinating view.

Ağrı airport (1.5 hours/100 km)

Have a welcome dinner at a local restaurant with your Mount Ararat hiking guide in the evening and let our guide check your climbing equipment before the Mount Ararat trip, help you rent Mount Ararat climbing equipment in Doğubeyazıt for missing equipment and give a briefing about the Mount Ararat tour

Day 2: Transfer to Ararat Base Camp (3200)

Have an open buffet breakfast at the hotel at 8:00 am for a pleasant Ararat tour

Meet your Ararat hiking guide at the hotel at 9:00 am after breakfast

Our team will transfer you to Çevirme Village at 2200m altitude for the Ararat tour. The Ararat adventure starts from Çevirme Village. After approximately 35 minutes, you will reach Çevirme Village.

Start climbing from Çevirme Village (2200m) to Camp 1 (3200m) with your Ararat hiking group.

The distance we walked on the first day is approximately 7.1 km

Our team will transfer all the luggage to Camp 1 with mules for you.

During the climbing season of Mount Ararat, the temperature is +20 / + 25 at night in the autumn at the second camp, it can drop to minus degrees.

This part of the Mount Ararat hiking route takes approximately four or five hours, depending on the pace of the group.

When the group reaches the Ararat base camp, food, drinks and refreshments will be ready for us

We set up our tents together. In the afternoon, we will have free time to explore the surroundings and take photos.

Meals are eaten in the dining tents set up in the Ararat base camp between 18:00-19:00.

After dinner, a short briefing for the Ararat expedition is shared with the group by our guide. Lights go out at 22:00

Day 3: Transfer from Mount Ararat Base Camp to Little Mount Ararat

Have an open buffet breakfast at Mount Ararat base camp at 7:00 am for the Little Mount Ararat tour. Transfer from Mount Ararat base camp to Little Mount Ararat (1.5 hours)

Don’t forget to put snacks and water in your backpack!

Transfer to the starting point with 4×4 vehicles

From the starting point to the summit (5-6 hours)

After climbing the Little Ararat Summit (3925m) transfer to the Great Ararat base camp (3200m) (1.5 hours)

Dinner will be eaten at the Ararat base camp (18:00-19:00) and a celebration for the Little Ararat summit success at the dining tent

Accommodation at the Ararat base camp in the evening.

Day 4: Climbing to the second camp (4200m)

Before breakfast, prepare your luggage for the transfer to Camp 2 by mules and hand it over to our teammates.

Start the day well with a delicious breakfast at the Ararat base camp.

After breakfast, start our climb to Camp 2 (4200m)

The climb is approximately 4-5 hours and the distance is 6.5 km

When you arrive at the second camp, tea, coffee, fruit plate and snacks will be ready for you.

After dinner at 17:00, our guide will give information about the summit route of Mount Ararat.

Our guide will check your equipment required for climbing Mount Ararat and give information about the use of the equipment (e.g. crampons, shoes, trekking poles, headlamps)

Have an early dinner around 17:00 and go to bed early because you will wake up early.

A wonderful night stay in a tent away from the noise at the second camp.

Day 5: Climb to Ararat Peak and Return to Mount Ararat Base Camp

Our guide will wake you up for a different night breakfast than a typical breakfast time at 00:00-1:00 before sunrise. Have your breakfast and take a thermos lunch, hot water or tea with you.

(The reason why Mount Ararat trekking companies set off at 1:00 at night is that the weather and the ground are more suitable for climbing. To watch the sunrise on Mount Ararat and to see its shadow, which resembles a pyramid.)

From the 5137 m Ararat summit, if the weather is clear, you will see the fascinating view of Turkey, Iran and Armenia.

After the summit, 1-2 hours of rest at camp 2

We will collect our tents and luggage and these will be transferred to Camp 1 by our teammates.

We will descend to Mount Ararat base camp (2 hours)

Overnight in tent at Mount Ararat base camp

Day 6: Transfer to Airport

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Domestic Airport (Van/Ağrı/Iğdır)

Say goodbye to our guide and return home with wonderful memories of Mount Ararat adventure.
