Day 1: Transfer from Airport to Dogubayazit

Day one of our 7-day ascent of Mount Ararat

Meet our Mount Ararat trekking guide at Domestic Airport (Van/Ağri/Iğdır) and depart for Doğubayazıt (1-2 hours).

If you land at Van Ferit Melen Airport

Van/Doğubeyazıt is 180 km (2 hours 30 minutes)

The road is 18 meters high and 77 meters wide and named after the Ottoman sultan Murat IV. 

We’ll stop at Muradiye waterfall.

If you land at Iğdır Şehit Bülent Aydın Airport

Igdir/Dogubeyazit is 55km (45 minutes)

Sip your hot or cold drink in a small, cozy local cafe with our Mount Ararat Climbing Guide and enjoy the view of Mount Ararat.

If you land at Ağrı Ahmedi Hani airport, it is 105 km (1.5 hours)

Check in to our hotel in Dogubayazit and get some rest before a spectacular Mount Ararat adventure.

Day 2 Transfer from Dogubayazt to Mount Ararat Base Camp

Have a buffet breakfast at the hotel at 8.00 am for a pleasant trip to Mount Ararat

After breakfast, meet your Mount Ararat hiking guide at the hotel at 9:00 am.

Our team will transfer you to Çevirme Village at an altitude of 2200m for a tour of Mount Ararat. Mount Ararat adventure starts from the village of Çevirme. Approximately 35 minutes later, you will reach the village of Çevirme.

Start climbing from Çevirme Village (2200m) to Camp 1 (3200m) with your Mount Ararat hiking group.

The distance we walked on day one was about 7.1 km.

Our team will transfer all luggage to Camp 1 with mules for you.

During the climbing season on Mount Ararat the temperature can drop from +20/+25 at night to minus degrees in the second camp in the fall.

This section of the Mount Ararat trekking route takes about four hours or five hours depending on the pace of the group.

Food, drinks and refreshments will be ready for us when the group reaches the Mount Ararat base camp.

We pitch our tents together. In the afternoon we will have free time, you can explore the surroundings and take photos.

Meals are eaten at 17:00-18:00 in the dining tents set up in the main camp of Mount Ararat.

After dinner, a short briefing for the Mount Ararat expedition is shared with the group by our guide. 22:00 lights out

Day 3: Acclimatization Hike and Return to Base Camp

Acclimatization hike to help your body better adapt to the altitude during a tour of Mount Ararat.

Have breakfast at 8:00 in the morning before starting the Mount Ararat acclimatization hike

The hike starts at 9:00 – 10:00 am and climbs up to 4000 m. Before the hike

 Snack packs are provided for lunch.

The acclimatization climb is approximately 7.5 kilometers and takes 5 – 6 hours.

After reaching 4000 m, we will take a 30-60 minute rest break for good acclimatization, take photos, explore alpine meadows, wild flowers and volcanic landscape.

After the acclimatization climb, we will return to Mount Ararat base camp and have free time in the afternoon.

 We will have dinner at 17:00 -18:00 and a short briefing for tomorrow.

 22:00 lights out and rest and sleep in the tent.

Day 4: Climb from Ararat Base Camp to Camp 2 (4200m)

Before breakfast, prepare your luggage and tents for the transfer by mules to Camp 2 and hand them over to our teammates.

Start the day well with a delicious breakfast at Mount Ararat base camp.

After breakfast, start our ascent to Camp 2 (4200 m)

The climb takes about 4-5 hours and the distance is 6.5 km

Tea, coffee, fruit platter and snacks will be ready for you when you arrive at the second camp.

After dinner at 17:00, our guide will give information about the summit route of Mount Ararat.

Our guide will check your equipment needed for climbing Mount Ararat and give information about the use of equipment (e.g. crampons, shoes, trekking poles, head lamps).

Have an early dinner around 17:00 and go to sleep early because you will wake up earlier than the previous days.

Great overnight stay in a tent away from the noise in the second camp.

Day 5: Climb to Ararat Summit and Return to Ararat Base Camp

 Finally, we start the most critical day of our 7-day climb of Mount Ararat.

Our guide will wake you up before dawn at 00:00-1:00 a.m. for an overnight breakfast that is different from a typical breakfast time. Have breakfast and take a thermos of hot water or tea with you for lunch.

(The reason why Mount Ararat trekking companies depart at 1:00 a.m. is that the weather and the ground is more favorable for climbing).

The difficulty level of climbing Mount Ararat can be called medium level.

From the summit of Ararat, if the weather is clear, you will see the fascinating view of Türkiye, Iran and Armenia.

After the summit, return to camp two and after a little rest in camp two (1-2 hours), after collecting our tents and handing them over to our teammates, return to Mount Ararat Base camp (3200m).

Dinner 17:00-18:00 and summit celebration at Mount Ararat base camp.

Day 6: Transfer from Ararat Base Camp to Dogubayazit

After completing our trip to Mount Ararat, we have breakfast at 8:00 in the morning and go down to Çevirme village at 9:00 (2-3 hours)

Transfer to Dogubayazit

2 hours rest in Dogubayazit hotel.

We visit the 17th century Ishak Pasha Palace.

Celebration dinner at a local restaurant and climbing completion certificate.

Overnight stay at the hotel (Dogubayazit).

Day 7 Transfer to Airport

After breakfast, transfer to Domestic Airport (Van/Ağrı/Iğdır)

 Say goodbye to our guide and return home with great memories of your Mount Ararat adventure.
